Award winning PGA Professional Richard Strange to take over as HEad Professional at Chevin GC in Derbyshire

“It is with great pleasure that I can announce I have accepted a new position as Head Professional at Chevin Golf Club, a premier members club located in Duffield, Derbyshire. The Club is 126 years old and has a thriving membership.
I am now able to take my 18 years of Professional experience gained under the expert tutelage of Robert Macey to a new level with this exciting opportunity.

I am looking forward to meeting new colleagues and soon to be friends
at Chevin where I will be providing an exciting retail experience, offering them my expert coaching and other PGA Golf Professional services.

That being said it is with a heavy heart that I leave Norwood Park where I have enjoyed 11 happy years growing the game of golf and meeting many life long friends.

It has been a pleasure to see the Club progress and grow from strength to strength, and to have played my part in the progression – from winning multiple National Awards and teaching thousands of people to play the game.

I will still be able to complete all outstanding lessons and duties at the Norwood for the foreseeable future to make sure there is a smooth transition. I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces in the near future and can’t wait to meet more friends and colleagues at Chevin. I officially start my new role on 1st February this year.

I would like to thank Rob & Jackie Macey for their invaluable advice, support and friendship over the past 18 years and also Paul Thornton for his guidance over the past 11 years at Norwood Park.

See you all soon – Richard

“We are so proud of Richard and all his achievements since starting with us as a PGA Assistant 18 years ago – what a tremendous journey we have all been on
together. Highly regarded both within the region & the country for his golf development work and his outstanding commitment to ‘growing the game’, which he has been rewarded many times with National accreditations.

It is certainly bitter sweet for us all at Norwood. His contribution to the success of Norwood and Macey’s Golf cannot be over stated and we will always be very grateful to him.

We fully support his move to Chevin and know he will make an outstanding Head Professional. Jackie & I will continue to support and mentor him in his new adventure. We hope to hold a farewell event in the Summer at Norwood so we can say a proper goodbye”
